Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Pdflexa website (pdflexa.com) and its PDF tools (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms at any time. We will indicate the date of the latest revision at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Description of the Service

Pdflexa is an online platform offering tools to edit, convert, compress, sign, merge, split, annotate, and otherwise manage PDF documents. The Service is available in a free tier and paid subscription tiers (Pro and Business), which unlock higher usage limits and additional features.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) to use the Service. By using Pdflexa, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Upload, process, or distribute files that contain illegal content, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material, content that promotes violence or terrorism, or material that infringes intellectual property rights without authorisation
  • Upload files containing malware, viruses, ransomware, or any malicious code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, its servers, or any related systems
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to interact with the Service without our prior written permission
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate any person or entity
  • Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair its functionality

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we reasonably believe you have violated these provisions.

5. File Uploads and Your Content

Ownership. You retain full ownership of the files you upload to Pdflexa. By uploading a file, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process the file solely for the purpose of providing the requested service feature.

No review of content. We do not monitor or review the content of files you upload, except as necessary to investigate reported violations or legal obligations.

Automatic deletion. Files are processed on our servers and deleted automatically — typically within 1 hour of processing, and in no case later than 24 hours after upload. We do not retain copies of your files.

Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload, process, and distribute any file you submit to the Service. Do not upload confidential or sensitive documents unless you are comfortable with our security practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

6.1 Plans

Pdflexa offers a free tier and paid subscription plans (Pro and Business). Paid plans are billed on a monthly or annual basis as selected at checkout. Details of current plans and pricing are available on our pricing page.

6.2 Billing

Payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you authorise us (via Stripe) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the applicable subscription rate plus any applicable taxes. We do not store your full card number or banking credentials.

6.3 Free Trials

Where a free trial is offered, it will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled beforehand.

6.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at info@pdflexa.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access to paid features until that date.

6.5 Refunds

We offer refunds at our discretion, typically only in cases of technical failures that prevented you from using the Service. To request a refund, contact us within 14 days of the charge at info@pdflexa.com.

6.6 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices at any time. Price changes will be communicated to you by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

7. Intellectual Property

The Pdflexa name, logo, website design, software, and all related intellectual property are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you a right to use the Pdflexa name, logo, or any related branding without our prior written consent.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service or any part of it without our express written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements or that output files will be free of errors.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pdflexa and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill — arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under or related to these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) USD 10.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for certain types of damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Pdflexa and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property or privacy rights.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services such as Stripe (payments) and Google Analytics (analytics) and Google AdSense (advertising). Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party services.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if required by law. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, any provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive will survive, including Sections 7, 8, 9, and 10.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the competent courts of Spain.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, if you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you retain the benefit of any mandatory protections afforded by the laws of your country of residence that cannot be derogated from by agreement.
